Alzheimer’s Among Us
September 29 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm MDT
Medical science has not yet figured out exactly what causes Alzheimer’s disease, nor are there scientifically proven ways to treat it. What we do know is that early identification of changes in peoples thinking skills, and daily functioning, is a key factor in helping people to maintain their autonomy and quality of life!
In this discussion we will talk about
- 1. Understanding Alzheimer’s and what signs to look for.
- 2. Communication with someone who appears to be having cognitive changes.
- 3. The great importance of empathy and kindness with those who are losing their ability to manage their lives independently.
Alzheimer’s is amongst us and we can make a difference. Our role as members of the community is to step in with understanding and support.
